One of the most frequently asked questions from prospective students is, why is the ICC in Columbus and not on Cedarville's main campus? That is a great question! The ICC was actually founded in Columbus nearly 10 years before the first graduating class even received their diplomas.
Our undergraduate Industrial and Innovative Design major actually takes place on both campuses so students get the best of two worlds!
Freshman and sophomores attend and live on main campus while they are completing their general education and departmental prerequisite courses. For their junior and senior years the students transition to the ICC studios in Dublin, a northwest suburb of Columbus, to be immersed in their major.
Columbus has been named a top city for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and is also home to some of the top industrial design firms in the nation. Further, it is also a vibrant area for sports, arts, music, nature trails, and historical sites.
"Columbus is a big college town," said Jim Stevenson, President and Co-founder of the ICC. "There are so many college students around town and not just from The Ohio State University, but also Otterbein, Capital, Ohio Dominican, Columbus State Community College, Franklin, the Columbus College of Art and Design and more."
"Our students get access to professionals and professional experiences like internships, guest lectures, site visits, design competitions, creativity meet ups, shadowing, full and part-time jobs, in addition to missional and service opportunities," Stevenson added.
The ICC continues to expand its programming in Columbus now operating the BA in Industrial and Innovative Design, an MBA concentration in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, an MA in Innovation, and new this summer, the launch of Digital Industry Foundation and Professional Badges.
